Project Portfolio
Underground Oasis (Private Residence)
Subterranean active rainwater harvesting system for a home in the high desert.
Prescott, Arizona

Skywater’s Strategy
Above-ground tanks were ruled out for this home rainwater harvesting project because of limited space and the owners’ aesthetic preferences. We installed an underground Eco-Rain modular “water matrix” system for its superior strength and flexibility, matching it to the existing grade. Large trees were excluded from the catchment footprint. The system was capped with two feet of topsoil for new hardscape, plus garden and landscape plantings. Custom rainheads were used intercept 3-in. roof drains just above grade. Tank volume was right-sized according to the landscape irrigation water budget.
